Report on CBA related to Ecosystems
« on: June 05, 2011, 15:45:18 GMT »
Some interesting and maybe ground breaking work on CBA related to Ecosystems
The UK National Ecosystem Assessment (UK NEA) which analyses the value of the UK's natural environment by taking account of the economic, health and social benefits we get from nature, is the first of its kind at a fully national scale. A panel of experts involved in the process answered questions on technical aspects of the assessment and how these findings will be implemented into policy decisions.

Key Questions Addressed in the UK National Ecosystem Assessment
■■ Q1: What are the status and trends of the UK’s ecosystems and the services they provide to society?
■■ Q2: What are the drivers causing changes in the UK’s ecosystems and their services?
■■ Q3: How do ecosystem services affect human well-being, who and where are the beneficiaries, and how does this affect how they are valued and managed?
■■ Q4: Which vital UK provisioning services are not provided by UK ecosystems?
■■ Q5: What is the current public understanding of ecosystem services and the benefits they provide?
■■ Q6: Why should we incorporate the economic values of ecosystem services into decision making?
■■ Q7: How might ecosystems and their services change in the UK under plausible future scenarios?
■■ Q8: What are the economic implications of different plausible futures?
■■ Q9: How can we secure and improve the continued delivery of ecosystem services?
■■ Q10: How have we advanced our understanding of the influence of ecosystem services on human well-being and what are the knowledge constraints on more informed decision making?
