IMF portal on infrastructure governance
« on: December 04, 2020, 06:33:10 GMT »
The IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department has just launched a new portal dedicated to infrastructure governance. (https://infrastructuregovern.IMF.org).

As the latest Fiscal Monitor highlights, public investment has a critical role to play in facilitating a strong economic recovery. At the same time, strong infrastructure governance is essential to make the most out of it. IMF analysis in the recently released book, Well Spent: How Strong Infrastructure Governance Can End Waste in Public Investment, shows that, on average, countries lose over one-third of potential benefits from infrastructure investment due to inefficiencies, and that strong infrastructure governance can reduce more than half of these inefficiencies.

The new IMF portal can show you how the IMF supports its member countries to strengthen infrastructure governance with its assessment tools, publications, and seminars. The portal also features regional and country pages where you can compare strengths of infrastructure governance among different countries and groups.
