FWC 11 - Regional Economic Integration Support programme for SADC

Dear Expert!

The Danish Technological Institute is looking for 3 senior experts for 30/26/26 working days in SADC (Gaborone) starting tentatively October 20, 2011; completion within 55 calendar days from start.

Note:Working experience in Africa/Sadc is an distinct advantage!

The profiles are:
Regional Integration, trade – Expert 1 (Team Leader). Senior:
Minimum requirements:

  • University degree (or an equivalent diploma) of at least four years in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, trade development, regional integration or a similar field) or an equivalent relevant professional experience of at least eight years above the general and specific professional experience required below;
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience of which at least 8 years work experience in the field of regional integration, preferably in Africa;
  • Solid understanding of 9th or 10th EDF procedures and experience of different aid modalities (including contribution agreements);
  • Demonstrated experience in EU project formulation

Others:
  • Working experience in the SADC region is an advantage;
  • Recent experience in the formulation of Project Identification Fiches is an asset;
  • Knowledge of PCM methodology is an asset;
  • Drafting skills are important, as are a good working knowledge of the standard Microsoft Office suite of programmes.

Economist – Expert 2. Senior:
Minimum requirements

  • University degree (or an equivalent diploma) of at least four years in a relevant discipline (e.g. (macro) economics, development economics or a similar field) or an equivalent relevant professional experience of at least eight years above the general and specific professional experience required below;
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience, of which at least 5 years in areas related to regional integration, preferably in Africa, development economics, and or macroeconomic convergence

Others:
  • Working experience in the SADC region is of advantage;
  • Recent experience in the formulation of Project Identification Fiches is an asset;
  • Drafting skills are important, and a good working knowledge of the standard Microsoft Office suite of programmes.

Institutional specialist – Expert 3. Senior:
Minimum requirements:

  • University degree (or an equivalent diploma) of at least four years in a relevant discipline (e.g. strategy and planning, public administration development or equivalent subject area) or an equivalent relevant professional experience of at least eight years above the general and specific professional experience required below. A post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage;
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, of which at least 5 years in areas of public administration, institutional development and capacity building/development in less developed countries;
  • Extensive knowledge of policy, planning, human resources, risk management, governance structures is required.

Others:
  • Working experience in the SADC region is of advantage;
  • Recent experience in the formulation of Project Identification Fiches is an asset.
  • Drafting skills are important, and a good working knowledge of the standard Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
