Andrew Young School World Tax Indicators
« on: July 01, 2011, 22:43:22 GMT »
The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies has just recently opened the World Tax Indicators (WTI) data portal. The WTI provides country-level tax data that are consistent within countries over time and is expected to be an invaluable resource for the policy making and academic research communities.   The current version of the portal provides extensive coverage of the personal income tax (PIT) schedule for over 180 countries for the years 1980 – 2005 and we are in the process of expanding both the time and variable dimensions of the WTI.  These expansions will cover the corporate income tax, value added tax, retail sales tax, the period 1980 – 2010, and will make the WTI the most comprehensive data source for tax related data.   Academic research using the WTI data has been already published in journals and has been used in several academic working papers by researchers at both academic and international institutions.  The expanded dataset will be an even greater source of research output and we are interested in sharing it with the readers of the PFM Board.

The WTI Data Portal is open to the public at no charge and is hosted in the International Studies Program Research Center at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University http://aysps.gsu.edu/isp/wti.html
