airport hubs in Europe

John Short:
We have just had a team go to Zambia from  UK (3 different airports) - Paris- Jo'burg- Lusaka.  The first was denied boarding on his transfer at Jo'burg on Monday even though it was still boarding, the second had a similar experience today (though do not know if plane from Paris was so late).  The third was late out of Birmingham, was promised that he would be met off the flight and transfered to the AF flight to J'oburg which would be held for him.  Was it held? Was it helled!  Was he met?  Was he....!  Arrives tomorrow, but will he get delayed in Jo'burg?

CdeG was always the place to miss if transiting from UK - must place that in back memory bank while I still have some grey cells.

petagny:
Just been separated from my luggage twice in a week when transiting through Munich. It's beginning to lose it's appeal!

As a regular user of CdeG, I have nothing to say in it's defence.

petagny:
Only 15 minutes to transit Munich! Can it be done? It can if you are met at the incoming aircraft by a minibus, speeded through security and passport checks and then whizzed back to the outgoing aircraft in the same minibus. This happened to me and 3 other passengers on a delayed Lufthansa flight into Munich last week. Very impressive!

Napodano:
YEAH, it happened to me as well in Munich and I was the only passenger!

harnett:
Munich has such appeal.  I also had a 10 minute transfer to Albania (which I made courtesy of an airport bus), arrived in Tirana, automatically went to lost baggage and whilst queuing turned round to see my suitcase on the conveyor.  Very impressive.  However, Schipol got my vote.  Transfers are always efficient and any airport with an art gallery has to get my vote.

Can't believe anyone would vote for CDG or Heathrow (Gatwick is better!)
