Procurement Practice in the UK National Health Service
« on: October 02, 2011, 17:42:57 GMT »
Worthwhile listen on health procurement and getting best value in the UK NHS.  Inefficient  procurement practices, ineffective organizational structures and the scale of the NHS in England cost taxpayers billions.   The defence of the present Government's reforms by the Minister and comments of a General Practitioner towards the end of the broadcast do not suggest things will improve when the budgets are devolved to GPs next Financial Year.

Scotland's centralised procurement system comes in for much praise and could indeed be a useful mechanism for small countries or devolved health administrations.
